This is a NON SMOKING hotel - please smoke outside and use metal ashtrays.

OUR CANCELLATION RULES (GROUPS HAVE THEIR OWN RULES)

  • Cancellation and changes are free until 16:00 seven days before arrival.
  • In case of cancellation later than 7 days before arrival (from after 16:00), payment of 35% of the total amount is required.
  • If cancelled later than three days before arrival (from after 16:00), 100% of the first two nights of the stay will be charged.

 

STAYING AT OUR HOTEL - PENSION TYPES

  • Room with breakfast included
  • Half board (Breakfast and 3-course dinner included). Half board applies if you are staying for 2 nights or more. Read more in booking.

 

OUR MEALS

BREAKFAST

  • Breakfast is served in summer between 07.00 - 09.30 (until 10:00 on Sundays) 
  • NB: from 07.30 in winter and on weekdays in less busy periods. 
  • The correct breakfast hours is to be found on door to Dining Hall 
  • The breakfast hall is busiest around 08:30, if you want to avoid queues we recommend eating a little before or after.

Early breakfast: If you are going to catch an early boat at Gjende or Bygdin and want breakfast earlier than this, please let us know by 21:00 the night before. Please report to reception the night before by 9:00 p.m., a simple breakfast can be prepared  from 06.00.

 

 

PACKED LUNCH 

  • Make it yourself when eating breakfast, necessary packaging available on the table in the dining room
  • Price is not included in the room price- see price in dining room.
  • Thermos - Please rinse and clean the thermos before taking it to breakfast. You can fill it yourself with coffee / tea water.
  • Please state the number of thermoses and lunch packs to the reception upon departure, thank you :)

 

THE CAFE - Opening hours

  • Winter    11:00 - 17:00
  • Summer 11:00 - 18:00

Hot and cold dishes, sandwiches, Bygdin burgers, soup and our famous mountain waffles are served here.
Creamy traditional sour porridge is on the menu in summertime! The menu varies according to the season.

 

DINNER IN THE DINING HALL? If you have not already ordered dinner with us, we will serve a 3-course dinner at the hotel in the evening.

High season seating is 18:45 or 20:15, otherwise at 19:00

We will be happy to have your dinner order and time preferably by the day before, i.e. by tonight, if you have not already notified us.

 

Feel free to change your order yourself if you have ordered thorugh www.bygdin.com. If you have ordered at the last minute, call us on tel. +47 61341400 and let us know if you want dinner and at which table setting. If you have not informed us of your desired table setting by the evening before the day of arrival, you will be placed at the table setting we have available tables.

ALLERGIES and DIETARY REQUIREMENTS - reported at the latest the day before:

We see that there are many people who need adaptations for allergies, so these and any necessary food preferences must be reported no later than the day before arrival. For last-minute orders with a request for dinner in the evening, information must be given by telephone as soon as possible after the order has been placed.
We do our best to make arrangements for everyone, but in the event of a lack of information about allergies/dietary needs before arrival, extra costs may be incurred due to extra work for the kitchen.

BAR
Our bar can be found at reception, all rights reserved.
By law, latest possible serving is within 02:00. Bar opening hours may vary due to amount of guests in the hotel. 

 

LUGGAGE ROOM
We have available storage for a small selection of luggage, ask in reception and we will lock it in and out for you.

 

INTERNET - WIFI
Yes, we do have WiFi, but - the signals is sent wireless from the mountain Bitihorn, and honestly we do not have a good capasity if all guest wants to stream - so we prefer them not to. Therefore - we kindly urge you instead to maybe take a screen break, enjoy the view and the atmosphere, and maybe sit in the saloons playing cards or have fun with friends and family playing one of our Board Games? To be borrowed in reception.

If you need to use the internet, it works best in the areas near the reception, and if you need to use the internet in a work context, let us know - and we can reserve working time for you in one of our salons.


PARKING
Our parking is both at the back and the front of the hotel, feel free to park at the back if you are staying for a few days. We have a bus that drives past us, and it must have room to drive through in front of the hotel. 

  • Resident guests park for free. Parking tags are available at reception - put in the front window.
  • Café guests also have free parking.
  • If you park to go for a walk or take the boat, and you are away on a day trip, please pay at the reception, and use parking at the back of the hotel. Parking ticket is purchased at reception, put a note in the front window.
  • Price for parking only to walk or take the boat:
    Winter NOK 85 per day, NOK 400 per week / Summer NOK 65 per day, NOK 385 per week

Parking can be paid via VIPPS, tipping code #553202 (also possible for danish and finish guests) or paid in the reception and you get a parking tag which is placed in the front window).


Camper Van - can be connected to electricity for payment at the reception when parking (payment includes access to shower and toilet at the hotel).


Electric Car Charger
We have 4 spaces for electric cars, please disconnect when the car is charged - there are more waiting to be charged. Payable at reception.

 

NON-SMOKING AND SNUFF - polite and tidy use
We are now used to the fresh air in the mountains, and because Norway has been no-smoking inhouse for years our hotel is non-smoking indoors, also in the rooms. Therefore - outside the hotel, a short distance from the entrance door, you will find fireproof containers/jars where you can safely dispose of used cigarettes and matches.
Used snuff bags also fit better there or in the metal waste bins - not on the ground. We do also care a lot for dogs - and do not want for them to digest something dangerous.

 

DOG AS GUEST

  • Your dog is warmly welcomed as a guest with us!
  • We have some rules about bringing dogs with you, see information about dogs in the web top menu under Info.
  • There are some rooms where we CANNOT have dogs due to allergies.
  • When visiting us with dog you need to mention the dog (and number of dogs) during ordering prosess of your stay.

All the owners of the hotel and several employees have their own dogs, so we are well used to dogs with us. We have free dog bags, some dog cages and beds for loan, you can also borrow dog bowls. One-off cost per stay per dog due to extra washing.
